Pay less out of one pocket (profits to insurance companies for underwriting, rescission).
Pay more out of another pocket (non-profit or gov’t administration
If the second amount is greater than the first amount you SAVE BILLIONS.
As we see in every single other industrialized nation that includes health care as a PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE, and eliminates the corporate bureaucratic DEATH PANELS who deny care because it hurts the “bottom line.”
In all other countries, they pay barely more than HALF what we pay and get BETTER OUTCOMES.
